The La Costa Canyon High School Foundation (LCCHSF) was incorporated in 1996 as a 501(c)(3) organization. It was established with the dream of somehow making a positive impact on the lives of each and every student at La Costa Canyon High School beyond the basic educational services the School District provides our students. At its core, Foundation supporters believe that if we provide additional funding and voluntary support to our classrooms and programs beyond the basics, we give our students an opportunity to receive the best education and high school experience possible. Graduating with an enhanced educational experience, our students will make a difference in their communities and foster a competitive edge when applying for college or employment.
The Foundation’s volunteer board members represent hundreds of parent volunteers that work tirelessly to support LCC’s Academics, Athletics, and Arts programs. The Foundation only staffs one full-time Executive Director and one part-time bookkeeper who manage everything from unique fundraising opportunities to ensuring the Foundation operates within the definition and framework of a non-profit organization, to keeping the Foundation’s day-to-day operations running organized and seamlessly, as volunteer families move in and on every few years. The rest of the Foundations’ functions, from team liaisons to event planners and coordinators, are all performed by dedicated parent volunteers who believe that supporting their children’s education doesn’t stop after elementary school. Research has shown that parent involvement at any grade level yields benefits, from improved grades to lower rates of depression.
