FAQ's

Why are donations needed?

At current state funding levels, the San Dieguito Union High School district projects a funding shortfall of $1,800 per student. Without additional sources of funding, our students and teachers simply will not have the resources they need to maintain an environment of academic excellence.

Who decides how the money is spent?

The Foundation Board of Directors works closely with  the school administration to identify the areas of greatest need at La Costa Canyon High School.  Dollars from the general fund are allocated to those areas through a grants  process.  Donations can also be designated for a specific purpose and are distributed accordingly.

How much am I expected to contribute?

Every contribution is important and appreciated!  Each family should determine the value of insuring that the quality of education at La Costa Canyon High School is maintained at the highest level.  Our goal is 100% participation - with everybody's involvement we can insure that the best educational environment is available to all students in the LCC community.

Are my contributions tax deductible?

Because the LCCHS Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit corporation, all contributions are deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
